ProART

ProART has been on the Czech cultural map since 2004. The association organizes the summer workshop festival ProART and the stage ensemble ProART Company – one of the first independent ensembles of contemporary or modern dance and music theater in the Czech Republic. Founded in Prague by Martin Dvořák and Alena Pajasová. Now based in Brno, but with nationwide scope. Every year, it also carries out international collaborations and guest appearances.

Currently, the ProART Company profile is profiled as a multi-genre ensemble, moving in the intentions of contemporary and modern dance, dance theater or movement, musical theater and drama. The ensemble is a project, collaborating with dancers, actors, singers, artists, musicians. The effort is to express oneself in a multi-genre way, i.e. to intermingle and connect individual artistic branches, to inspire each other. With contemporary means, the ensemble grasps topics often on the edge of interest or being forgotten, it does not focus primarily on current foreign trends, but in a natural way it combines the historical context, heritage, national tradition with contemporary work based on an innovative concept and non-traditional creative approach.

< p>The focus of the ProART Company's work is the effort to find common paths for dance and drama, respectively singing, the effort to create non-superficial, multi-layered, as well comprehensible, contemporary, dance-theatre performances for a wider spectrum of audiences. Stylistically, the ensemble can be classified as a modern-contemporary dance-theatre ensemble. Over several years of history, the ensemble has more than 50 full-length projects or composed evenings of shorter choreographies to its credit. In addition to the pivotal works of Martin Dvořák, the ensemble has experience in collaboration with a number of foreign choreographers. Together, their projects to date have reached more than 1,000 reruns. The projects often reach several dozen repetitions and remain in the repertoire for longer than just one playing season. Currently, the ensemble has the following multi-genre projects in its repertoire: Chopin_Sandová: Love Prelude, Reynek_Renaud: Dreaming of Petrkov, Seifert_Němcová: Song for Viktorka, HAAS_Dny po slavová, SNY_SVĚDOMÍ and Dark Blue Jezek.

ProART Company's work is typical of serious music, over genres connecting and searching for new expressions and concepts for already existing musical or literary assignments, as well as topics responding to Czech history and current social trends. The ensemble develops international artistic collaborations and is supported by Czech Centers Abroad. in Germany, Austria, France, Poland, Switzerland, Israel, Portugal, Italy, Hungary, South Korea, Slovakia, Malta, Kenya and England. The philosophy also includes educational activities and the education of independent art to a wider audience, i.e. the whole society.
