Sonntagsmatinee im Nou
Sunday matinee in the Nou
Event by: Luisa Fernanda Palma
Location: Nou Tango Berlin, Berlin - Mitte
About event
The slow waltz “Allée des Brouillard” by Richard Galliano is something like a “relaxation piece” in the Tango program of the Duo G&G. It sounds when e.g. intensive energies of a programmatic predecessor still need some space to subside or swing in. It is a kind of musical buffer if two -strong tangos cannot sound immediately one after the other or if a whole block of thematic music pieces is to be rounded off. The listener can relax and take a deep breath ... everything musically!
The sophisticated arrangements by Gerhard A. Schiewe masterfully use the multifaceted possibilities of English horn and accordion, combine warm sound with brilliant virtuosity and polyphony. How the piece unfolds in combination with other tangos remains exciting: Will "Pluie d’été" (summer rain) sound fresh and fragrant or more nostalgic?
Let yourself be surprised and enjoy a matinee full of virtuosity, variety of sound and emotions - see you! Play the tango session, merge temperament and devotion in an inspiring manner. Accordion and English horn (!) Combine in virtuoso arrangements into a very special sound experience. While the accordion can stage both bandoneon, orchestral and piano sounds, the English horn gives the sound a vocal, violin or wind-like character. The combination is a real unique and often goes directly to heart.
The Sunday matinee is a concert series in the Nou Mitte. We would like to use our beautiful rooms to offer (tango) music to offer a forum and to focus on the music. This event is concerts, so everyone can come-non-dancers as well as dancers-to listen to the wonderful sounds of music.
