About event
Experience the fascinating musical journey of Astor Piazzolla in 1950s Paris!
In 1954, awarded a prestigious scholarship, Piazzolla embarked on a turning point in his career when he studied in Paris with the renowned Nadia Boulanger. He wants to free himself from the pulsating tango in the dance halls of Buenos Aires and create serious compositions that will show him as an artist in a new light. But at Boulanger's urgent request, he gets involved in the tango - but not just any tango, but a completely new, complex tango nuevo.
In this unique concert program we explore the tonal diversity of Paris in the 50s - from French art songs and chansons to Piazzolla's revolutionary tangos, which also included Influences from a wide variety of genres merge. Immerse yourself in the artistic vision of a genius and experience the magic of tango music that breaks away from tradition while remaining deeply rooted in history. An unforgettable musical experience that combines Paris, tango and modernity.
The Sunday matinee is a series of concerts in the Nou Mitte. We would like to use our beautiful rooms to offer (tango) music a forum and to put the music at the center. This event is a concert, so everyone can come - non-dancers as well as dancers - to listen to the wonderful sounds of the music.
Admission is free.
Donations to promote tango culture are warmly welcomed. The event is organized by the Nou Community Berlin in cooperation with the Nou Mitte.
Barrier-free access possible
