Galéria mesta Bratislavy

Galéria mesta Bratislava (GMB) was established in 1961 with the mission of collecting, processing, evaluating, protecting and culturally using material documents of works of art that are linked to Bratislava by content or authorship.

Annually it organizes around 40 exhibitions of Slovak and foreign artists. In addition, it organizes several exhibitions of Slovak art every year in important museums and galleries around the world. It regularly publishes catalogs and accompanying materials for exhibitions.

Since 1975, the gallery has been housed in one of Bratislava's rococo palaces - Mirbach Palace. The gallery also has exhibition spaces on Panská Street in the Pálffy Palace building. On the first floor of the Mirbach Palace, there is a permanent exhibition of Central European Baroque painting and sculpture. Ground floor and II. the floor is intended for short-term exhibitions. The concert hall in the Mirbach Palace is used for regular concerts. In the Pálffy Palace, there are permanent exhibitions of Gothic art, art of the 19th and 20th centuries and the Celtic Mint. On the 1st floor is the Passage project by Matej Krén.
