About event
in collaboration with the studio Molière and the Lycée Français de Vienne.
based on the vision of the founder of the Chinémathèque Française Henri Langlois, for whom it seemed impossible to organize film screening without "programming gesture", the Institut Français d'Autriche accompanies the professionalization of young curators in 2025 by proposes to program a number of film evenings in the Molière studio.
In the course of regular meetings, you will select films from contemporary work and the cultural heritage, write the editorial and for certain ideas filmmakers, personalities from the cultural world or the Invite society to discuss with the audience.
For this first demonstration, invite the young curators Cordula Rieger and El-Schahawi , the film adolescentes (2019) to discover in which the director Sébastien Lifshitz accompanies two friends between the age of 13 and 17. The film takes a benevolent look at an age in which changes, misunderstandings and uncertainties multiply. So he addresses friendship in all of their ambiguity. Of their importance for the formation of a community, but also of its transience, which, however, does not take anything from its depth.
Admission is free. The demonstration in French with German subtitles is moderated by Cordula Rieger and Anouk el-Schahawi, followed by a discussion in German and French.
