Porridge Radio + support: Bára Šarafínová

British DIY band Porridge Radio will perform at Futurum Music Bar on December 11, 2024. The evening's support will be Czech musician Bára Šarafínová.

When Dana Margolinová started working on Porridge Radio's fourth album, there was something different about the singer's approach to creation.

“ Almost all the songs started as poems,” says Margolinová about the creation of the album Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me (2024). “I wanted to challenge myself.” Dana says she's learned through songwriting that a writer can always hide behind musical gimmicks and best practices like repetition. “But in the poem,” says Dana, “you can't hide.”

Recording Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Recorded in the Somerset countryside in early 2024 by long-time Big Thief and Laura Marling engineer Dom Monks, Me's the first new music from Porridge Radio in two years. The British band's new album is a coming-of-age moment inspired by burnout, the music industry, heartbreak, the brutal breakdown of significant relationships, and Dana's own ever-deepening immersion in her craft.

Throughout the album, especially the devastating tracks A Hole In the Ground and God Of Everything Else, Dana's ruthlessly self-questioning writing style combines with the band's most impressive music, patiently built and tragically intense.
