Pat Metheny lives the spirit of jazz like no one else at the moment: the world star of the jazz guitar is of sheer tireless curiosity and one Driven by a spirit of innovation that is almost emblematic of this form of music. As a passionate live musician, Metheny has been touring the world for over five decades and plays well over a hundred concerts every year. In 2026, fans can look forward to extraordinary evenings with ›Side-Eye‹ as part of the JazzNights. This project takes into account his great openness and search for new musical impulses: For 'Side-Eye', Metheny brings together young, aspiring musicians who have caught his attention and to whom he would like to pass on his experience. The idea is no coincidence, as Metheny himself benefited from working with older artists in his early days.
On the upcoming 'Side-Eye' tour, Pat Metheny presents James Francies (key/p), Jermaine Paul (b) and Joe Dyson (dr), three outstanding talents who have everything they need to play a key role in shaping the jazz of tomorrow.
