About event
When Kitty, Daisy and Lewis Durham, three siblings from London's Kentish Town, make music, they take us on a journey into the past. With their style of swing, blues, country, bluegrass and rock'n'roll, the three and their band are coming to Germany for eight concerts in October next year to ensure unforgettable concert moments and to present their new album live, for which the fan had to wait nine long years.
Since their self-titled debut in 2008, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis have skillfully oscillated between the decades. Since her childhood, which was strongly influenced by music from her parents' home, her musical heroes have included Louis Armstrong, Nina Simone, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke and Rufus Thomas. The album, which - like all its successors - was recorded with equipment from the time, contains numerous interpretations of their heroes' classics, as well as the siblings' own productions. The siblings are all multi-instrumentalists and create a diverse sound image of their music through the use of double bass, trombone, accordion or harmonica.
The trio continued the international success of their debut with the works “Smoking In Heaven” (2011), “The Third” (2015) and the most recently released “Superscope” (2017). In recent years, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis have worked relentlessly and today stand for their unique and unmistakable retro style. To ensure that the sound recordings turn out exactly as they imagine, Lewis Durham, the brother in the middle of the three siblings, designed and built the Durham Sound Studio in the London district of Camden, whose working tools sometimes look like they were borrowed from a museum, but are now very well known due to the quality of the equipment purchased. Lews Durham has been producing not only his own albums in these rooms since 2011, but also those of many other artists in search of a particularly warm retro sound. This is also why the fan has had to be a lot patient recently. Although Kitty, Daisy & Lewis toured somewhere around the world almost every year, they waited in vain for new music. Now the wait should be over: their new, currently untitled album will be released in 2026 after a nine-year break. Followed by an extensive European tour, which proves their enormous work ethic: Kitty, Daisy & Lewis play their eight German shows in Leipzig, Hamburg, Berlin, Nuremberg, Aschaffenburg, Cologne, Munich and Schorndorf within eight days without an off day.
