In 1986, Swedish rock icons EUROPE released their groundbreaking third album "The Final Countdown", which catapulted the group to international fame, with the title single reaching number 1 in 25 countries worldwide. The multi-platinum album topped the charts internationally, with four Top 40 singles and over 60 weeks on the American Billboard charts.
Due to the song's continued success in the digital age In 2022, the band received an award from YouTube as the first Swedish band to ever achieve a BILLION views on a single song... and of course the number continues to rise, as to date it stands at almost 1.4 billion views.
The Final Countdown 40th Anniversary Tour will travel through 12 countries, including the UK, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, with a total of 19 concerts. The show consists of a setlist that looks back on the band's career, culminating in the full performance of the album "The Final Countdown".
Since the release of "The Final Countdown", the group has toured the world continuously and has released eight more albums, winning a Classic Rock Award, a Grammy and many other awards.
The band is one of the few artists to have retained its classic line-up, and 2026 will also be their 12th. Studio album appears. The album, the title of which is not yet known, was recorded in October 2025 at RMV Studios in Stockholm with famous producer Tom Dalgety (Ghost, The Pixies, Royal Blood, Opeth).
Joey Tempest: “In the blink of an eye, 40 years have passed and we are about to play TFC in full for the second time in our career, along with other hits and our favorite songs from our upcoming album.
This “It’s going to be fantastic – we’re working to make the production and the show do justice to this very special occasion.”
