He was without a doubt one of the most popular, most celebrated and greatest entertainers, songwriters and composers in Germany: the music legend Udo Jürgens. More than 100 million records sold, countless and unforgettable hits such as “I've never been to New York”, “But please with cream” or of course “At 66 years” speak a clear language and are now part of German cultural heritage. Like no other, the charismatic global star knew how to entertain and, above all, touch his audience. Udo Jürgens would have turned 90 next year, and December 2024 will be the tenth anniversary of his death. It is time to respectfully honor his musical legacy, but also his unique career.
Under the title “Da Capo Udo Jürgens”, the brand new show will premiere in autumn 2024, which has a phenomenal world career duly celebrated.
“Da Capo Udo Jürgens” is a musical best of and therefore a journey through time through the work of an absolutely exceptional artist - in a spectacular implementation.
The original recordings of the last Udo Jürgens concerts were digitally processed very elaborately. Together with the live orchestra you will experience a unique visual and acoustic concert event: You can hear and see Udo performing live on a large LED wall and his original orchestra under the direction of none other than Pepe Lienhard, who has been Udo Jürgens for more than 30 years who has accompanied him for a long time with his big band, plays live on stage.
The illusion is perfect - you experience a spectacular live concert with Udo Jürgens, who is present on the video wall.
Based on the 3 CD box "da capo" - which is not only an excellent collection of hits, but rather a homage to an artist who was a music icon and audience favorite at the same time - the original show of the same name “Da Capo Udo Jürgens” is also a celebration and memory of an immortal legend.
The implementation of the show, which virtually brings a deceased artist back to life in a live concert, has been staged with great success around the world in recent years. “Elvis-The Concert” is probably the best-known role model of Da Capo Udo Jürgens, but is of course presented in a current technical implementation.
“Da Capo Udo Jürgens” will be performed in a total of 17 cities in autumn 2024 Germany and Austria can be seen - advance sales for tickets begin on September 20, 2023 via eventim.de and oeticket.com.
After the great success of the album "da capo, Udo Jürgens - Stations of a World Career" (number 1 in the German charts, gold award in Austria), a new album by Udo Jürgens was released on September 15th: “The flowers bloom the same everywhere - his most beautiful children's songs with the lyrics by James Krüss”. Udo Jürgens' most important message is already in the album title “The flowers bloom the same everywhere”: That people and countries are different, but still the same. This message runs through the 18 children's songs on the album and the four bonus tracks. 13 of the songs on the album are now available digitally for the first time - more than 50 years after their initial release .
