Christian Lee Hutson's upcoming album "Paradise Pop.10" feels like a collection of hastily put on airplane cocktail napkins found scribbled short stories. Each story follows the life of an unsuspecting passenger who was lucky enough to sit next to Christian Lee Hutson on a plane. Recorded in Brooklyn with Phoebe Bridgers, Marshall Vore and Joseph Lorge, as well as guests including Maya Hawke, the album once again finds Hutson as a keen observer, weaving autobiographical fiction with a simplified and sharpened style.
“Paradise "Pop.10" is the name of a real-life "town" in the woods of Parke County, Indiana, near Hutson's childhood home. There, behind the town and population sign, you will find a row of 5 houses on one side of the street and a cemetery opposite on the other side of the street. A kind of limbo, the inhabitants trapped in the inscrutability of the past, present and future.
The entire work is both literary and unpretentious, the lyrics almost give the listener the impression that Christian is actively rewriting his life story. With his very own melancholy of life, love and his new album, Christian Lee Hutson is now coming to Berlin for an exclusive concert in November this year.
