Since her debut, Agnes Obel has been a fixture in the European music landscape: Three years after her last tour, the celebrated artist finally brings her unique sound back to the German stages! Born in 1980 in Copenhagen, she grew up in a musical parents' home: her mother played her chopin on the piano, while her father gained passionately rare instruments. She received piano lessons early on and founded first folk bands. She particularly shaped the Swedish jazz pianist Jan Johansson, who inspired her to write her own songs. In October 2010, “Philharmonics” was published, whose special sound quickly received great recognition. With her mixture of folk, neo-classic and pop, as well as her striking voice, she quickly delighted many fans-the album rose to first place on the Danish album charts, was awarded platinum several times and the following year she received five prizes at the Danish Music Awards. With her second album "Aventine", she strengthened her reputation as an exceptional artist in 2013: she integrated rare instruments such as the Trautonium from the 1920s and also dared to experiment with new sound on her third album "Cipen of Glass". Her music was used in international films and series such as True Detective, Big Little Lies or The Last of Us, which brought her new fans worldwide. Shortly before the start of the Covid 19 pandemic, she published her fourth album "Mytopia" at the classic label Deutsche Grammophon in February 2020. With this work she continued to remove her former pop influences and created a fascinating fusion of classic melodies and electronic sound design. Obel is particularly important to the texts of their songs, which are strongly influenced by the narrative tradition of folk music. Agnes Obel's concerts are always an extraordinary experience. Their unique sound cosmos takes the audience into a dreamy world - and its intensive stage presence becomes an intimate, emotional journey. In autumn 2025 Obel returned to Berlin after three years of stage.
