Zea

Zea is a one-man breakpop band from Amsterdam and the solo project of Arnold de Boer, the current singer of The Ex, Dutch noise-punk veterans. Although de Boer is equipped with a microphone, samplers, synthesizers and automatic drums in addition to a guitar, he creates pop songs that sound analog, rock and punk rather than digital. They pile on distorted guitar colors, darkly hypnotic rhythms and noises. During the last decade, de Boer has been on a continuous world tour, performing at festivals such as Printemps de Bourges and in countries such as Ethiopia and Ghana.
