WWW Neurobeat

The band WWW was formed in Prague in the early nineties. No one knew at the time that the name of the band would later take on a completely new meaning. Originally, the name WWW was an abbreviation of the English "We Want Word". At that time, WWW gathered around themselves the first Czech hip-hop culture enthusiasts, they were one of the first rap bands in our country. They also co-created the foundations of the local graffiti, breakdancing and turntablist scenes. In later years, WWW started to work with live instruments, the band acted as a post hip-hop big band and gradually moved away from classic rap production.

In 1998, the band's response culminated in frequent concerts, its compositions were released on independent compilations . Thanks to cooperation with larger record companies, the band also "tastes what it tastes like" in the domestic mainstream. However, in the end, its members chose an independent artistic path, which eventually, together with internal pressures, caused the disbandment of WWW, just before the release of the first album on Polygram Records, which was offered, but rejected by the band members.

WWW returned to the scene with their debut album with the album Neurobeat only in 2006 thanks to the newly established independent label BiggBoss and thanks to Ondřej Anděra and Lubomír Typlt, who longed to end the introductory chapter of WWW creation with a tangible result. The album cover is a variation on Typlt's figural paintings from the Pinocchio series. WWW chooses the path of presentation through stylized symbolism and the definition of hip-hop as a space for authenticity, which is more important for the band than form.

The lyrics of Neurobeat are for the most part the author's work of Lubomír Typlt, Ondřej Anděra also collaborated on them. Typlt's lyrics are sometimes confusing and hard to grasp, provoking the listener to think and stretch their imagination. Their urgency is enhanced by metaphors, euphony and a wide range of poetic devices. Ondřej Anděra's lyrics are rather abstract impressions, emphasizing the rhythmic essence of words, their multiple meanings and sound coloration. Anděr's rap balances on the border of rhythmic playfulness and stimulating, furious and aggressive invocation. Everything is multiplied and improved by the metallic voice of the singer Milesy.

At concerts, WWW also work with DJ Brainy Thug's scratch and mixes, they often improvise using loop devices and experiment with synchronization with lasers and video projections. WWW combines the practices of hip-hop, industrial and electronica. In the Czech Republic, they are sometimes compared to bands like Beastie Boys, Massive Attack, NIN or Young Gods. WWW have headlined several major music festivals in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and have been nominated for several music awards, such as the Anděl award. (2006), Axe Dance (2009), Atomic Bee (2013), You Can't Drown in the Same Thing Twice river (2018) and the latest Sow Collars and Reap Dogs (2024).
