WU LYF
WU LYF is a British music group from Manchester, founded in 2008. It consists of Ellery Roberts, Evans Kati, Tom McClung and Joe Manning. From the beginning, the band made a profile in the field of indie rock, art rock and post-rock, and was also characterized by limited communication with the media and an emphasis on anonymity.
The group released their first recordings in the form of singles in 2010, and in 2011 they published their debut album Go Tell Fire to the Mountain. The recording was made outside of traditional studios, including in an abandoned church in Manchester, and represents the basic form of their sound based on a combination of guitar music, organ and expressive vocal expression.
After the release of their debut, the band ceased operations in 2012. The following period was associated with individual projects of the members, for example with the LUH project. In 2025, the group's activities were resumed, and the band returned to live performance and studio work after more than a decade of hiatus.
Current work includes new singles released since 2025, such as A New Life Is Coming, Tib St. Tabernacle and Love Your Fate. These recordings foreshadowed the second studio album A Wave That Will Never Break, released in 2026, which follows the debut and represents the group's first full-length project in more than a decade.
