Walk off the Earth

Walk Off the Earth is a Canadian indie pop group founded in 2006 in Burlington, Ontario. The band became internationally famous mainly through internet videos in which they reinterpreted well-known compositions using non-traditional instruments, looping and polyphonic arrangements. A significant breakthrough came in 2012 thanks to a cover version of Gotye and Kimbra's Somebody That I Used to Know, which the band members played together on one guitar.

The group consists of Gianni Luminati, Sarah Blackwood, Joel Cassady and David "Tokyo" Speirs. In his work, he combines indie pop, pop rock, folk elements and acoustic arrangements. Among her well-known compositions are Red Hands, Rule the World, Gang of Rhythm, Hold On (The Break), I'll Be There or My Stupid Heart. In addition to original work, the band has long been associated with cover versions of popular songs, which it regularly publishes on digital platforms.

After the death of member Mike Taylor in 2018, the band continued concert and studio activities and released the albums HERE WE GO! (2019), Meet You There (2021) and GOOD COMPANY (2025). Current work is represented by the recordings Killing Me Softly and Enter Sandman from 2026, as well as the singles Knock ’Em Down, Afraid of Heights, Take On Me or Our House.
