Vilém Vlček
Vilém Vlček, winner of the 2023 Jiří Bělohlávek award, is characterized by a deep inner experience and musical storytelling power in addition to technical ease. He fully developed these qualities on his debut double album with the work of Bohuslav Martinů, which was created in collaboration with pianist Denis Linnik and was released in June 2025 under the Supraphon label. The recording immediately attracted the attention of domestic and international critics and was awarded the title of "Record of the Month" by the British magazine Gramophone.
Vilém Vlček performed as a soloist with a number of symphony orchestras (Czech Philharmonic, Kammerorchester Basel, Kaunas Symphony Orchestra, Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK, Pilsen Philharmonic, North Bohemian Philharmonic, Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen and others). On these occasions he collaborated with leading conductors, for example Jiří Bělohlávek, Petr Altrichter, Jiří Rožně, Jonathan Bloxham, Nicolas Ellis, Wolfgang Emmanuel Schmidt and others. As a soloist and recitalist, he has performed in more than 30 countries (Grand Hall of the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Tonhalle Zürich, Kammermusik Saal of the Berlin Philharmonic, Dvořák Hall Rudolfinum).
He gained experience in the field of chamber music during his time in the Kukal Quartet, as a scholarship holder of the Academy of Chamber Music (AKH) and, last but not least, through direct collaboration with a number of renowned performers such as Leonidas Kavakos, Steven Isserlis, Sergio Azzolini, Rainer Schmidt, Claudio Martinez Mehner, Tomáš Jamník or Alfred Brendel.
