The Dresden Dolls

The musical duo The Dresden Dolls was formed in 2001 in Boston and consists of singer and pianist Amanda Palmer and drummer Brian Viglione. Since the beginning of its activity, it has been profiled as a project combining piano, drums and theatrical elements, while they describe their style as "Brechtian punk cabaret".

The first recording was the self-titled EP from 2001, which was followed by the debut studio album The Dresden Dolls (2003). This was followed by the albums Yes, Virginia... (2006) and No, Virginia... (2008), which expanded their discography with additional original material. In the first phase of their career, the band toured intensively and gained an audience in the alternative scene, among other things after winning the WBCN Rock & Roll Rumble competition.

After 2008, the group reduced their joint activities and its members devoted themselves to separate projects. It returned to the concert stage in 2022 and toured the United States and performed at festivals in 2023.
