Tantehorse

Tantehorse theater group was founded in 2006 by Miřenka Čechová and Radim Vizváry as Teatro Pantomissimo. At first, the ensemble focused on continuing the strong tradition of Czech modern pantomime, following on from its teacher Boris Hybner and the influences of Ladislav Fialka and Marcel Marceau. However, he soon left this classical world of fragile silence to follow his own path, which led through grotesque, comedy and black humor to surrealism and decadence. The meeting with the Japanese theatrical art of buto, which strongly influenced the ensemble's poetics, was crucial. From 2007 to 2009, there were three separate performances connected to the dramaturgically thought-out Dark Trilogy concept. This ensemble, captivating both in terms of style and content, in which the viewer goes through minimalism, surrealism and decadence, reveals the richness of the genre of mime and physical theater, which the Tantehorse ensemble has raised to the level of a strongly aesthetic and emotionally tense work of art.
