Sindbad - Mentoring für Jugendliche Wien

At the end of compulsory school, young people are faced with important decisions: Should I go to secondary school? Would I like to do an apprenticeship? Is an apprenticeship with a high school diploma perhaps right for me?

It's good when someone takes the time to discuss such questions.

Since 2016, Sindbad has been offering mentoring programs for young people from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. Each participating student receives a personal mentor for 8 to 12 months. Together they master the successful entry into secondary school or an apprenticeship.

Our mentors:

  • are students and/or professionals
  • are at least 20 years old
  • accompany young people in the educational transition on an equal level
  • want to support young people as role models and companions - just as they would like to be at that age
  • can give a young person 8-12 months of time (approx. 1 meeting every 14 days)

Our mentees:

  • are between 13-19 years old
  • have to decide what to do after compulsory school
  • don't have it that easy in the Austrian education system
  • would like support at their level Page

The exchange between you takes place as often and in the form that you agree with each other. We would like to have at least 1-2 face-to-face meetings per month. You decide for yourself what you experience together. You don't need any training or experience in the social sector.
