Michito Sanchez

Michito Sanchez is a well-known Los Angeles based drummer, originally from New Jersey. He simplifies or intensifies complex rhythms to fit the contemporary sound of pop, rock, R&B, hip-hop and jazz.

In his lifetime, Michito has collected hundreds of percussion instruments from around the world that he uses in his playing. For a kid growing up in New Jersey, such a career was a dream. In a Cuban-American family, the bongo was a constant part of the household, and for little Michita, it was the first school. He later attended Los Angeles City College and the Dick Grove School of Music, and while still studying, he began to make a living from music.

He was invited to a number of projects and collaborated with such names as the Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Joe Zawinul, Joe Walsh, Robert Palmer, Herbie Hancock, Plácido Domingo, Elton John, Eric Benét, Michael Bublé or Monica Mancini.
