Metropolitan Jazz Band

Metropolitan jazz band of trumpeter Josef Krajník was founded in 1972. MJB creatively processes and enriches historical jazz trends with its improvisational abilities from the beginning of jazz to its swing era, therefore in the repertoire we find compositions by L. Armstrong, S. Bechet, D Ellington, G. Gerschwin, as well as local jazz authors J. Ježek, L. Korbař, E.F. Burian and MJB bandleader J. Krajník.

Joseph Krajník's band drew attention to themselves at festivals in Spain, Portugal, Holland, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, France, Poland, Hungary, as well as in Russia and Ukraine. She also got to exotic places, the Canary Islands and the African Mellile. Among MJB's greatest achievements is participation in the world Dixieland festival in Sacramento, USA. The Metropolitan Jazz Band, in collaboration with leading Czech jazz singers, such as Jitka Vrbová and Eva Emingerová, also presents itself as a reliable accompanying orchestra. The perfect style of swinging Dixieland is dominated by the trumpet playing of band leader and singer Josef Krajník in addition to an excellent rhythm group.
