Městská divadla pražská

The Municipal Theater of Prague was established in Prague in 1950. Since its establishment, the local acting troupe has performed on several stages around Wenceslas Square. Currently, the drama theater operates on three stages - ABC, Comedy and Rococo. The basic task of the organization is to provide a public cultural service to a wide audience.

Since the 2018/19 season, the Municipal Theaters of Prague have fulfilled the artistic concept of director Daniel Přibyl and artistic director Michal Dočekal. This concept is based on the principle of an open, proactive and socially engaged cultural institution. In addition to the artistic activities of the permanent ensemble, the Municipal Theaters of Prague also work on a project basis, organize educational programs, provide space for resident artists and ensembles, and organize a wide range of accompanying activities from all artistic and related humanities fields.
