Magnum Jazz Bigband

Magnum Jazz Bigband is a dynamic twenty-member band that plays swing, modern jazz, but also funk or rock and pop songs in various arrangements.

Thanks to the classic composition (5 trumpets, 4 trombones, 5 saxophones, piano, guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals) and an extensive repertoire, the big band plays as the main band for dancing and listening at social and corporate events events, balls, parties and clubs. Bandleader and experienced musician Honza Šatra (Laura and her tigers, and others) gathered talented young musicians around him in September 1999 and founded a big band under the auspices of the Basic Art School in Klapkova street in Prague 8. Since 2005, the big band has been permanently led by Slávek Glaser, who worked as a pianist in the band from the very beginning. The premiere performance of the big band took place in the fall of 2000, when the big band performed at the prom of the Archbishop's Gymnasium. Since then, the big band has performed at numerous festivals and held numerous concerts and collaborated with well-known singers and musicians, e.g. with Tomáš Savka, Radka Fišarová, Pavel Vítek or Petr Malásk.
