Latter

Latter is a noise rock project from Chicago founded in 2022 by sound artist Meredith Haines, originally from Philadelphia, and drummer Jonathan Alvarado (Beach Bunny). After a decade in Philadelphia's DIY scene, Haines walked away from music entirely—burned out and building a new life as a sound artist and college counselor. A spontaneous meeting with Alvarado led to weekly jam sessions that quickly evolved into a raw and unique collaboration. Drawing from Haines' background in both sound art and modern dance, the band's performances blur the lines between noise rock, performance art and sound art, pushing beyond genre through an explosive mix of tension and vulnerability.
