Kukal Quartet

Kukal Quartet was founded in the autumn of 2020 by four young players who value the legacy of the Czech quartet school. The aim of the ensemble is to combine this tradition with a modern musical approach that members could acquire during their studies at the prestigious universities of Vienna, Salzburg, Basel, Warsaw and Prague. The ensemble pulled attention after winning the third prize and the title of laureate at the International Music Competition Prague Spring in May 2021. The Quartet at the competition mainly captivated its ensemble dynamics and individuality of its members.
