James and the Cold Gun

James and the Cold Gun is a British band from Cardiff, founded around 2019 by musicians James Joseph and James Bisset. The project was created as a joint initiative of two musicians who started writing and recording songs during the pandemic with the aim of creating guitar-oriented rock music.

In the initial phase of its activity, the band functioned as a duo, which gradually expanded the line-up to a full-fledged concert group. She released her first recordings in the form of singles and the debut EP False Start (2022), which she followed up with concert activities in clubs and on larger stages.

Signing a contract with Loosegroove Records, which is run by Stone Gossard from Pearl Jam, was a crucial moment in her career. In 2023, the band released their debut album James and the Cold Gun, which represents their basic musical direction based on garage rock and alternative rock.

The band's music is based on a guitar-oriented sound, combining elements of garage rock, indie rock and punk. A characteristic feature is the emphasis on simple instrumentation and energetic rhythms, which is reflected both in studio recordings and in concert performances.

After the release of the debut album, the band continued to perform in concerts and release new compositions, for example Something to Say or Chewing Glass.
