Gabriela Vermelho

Gabriela Vermelho is a Czech singer, violinist, violist, quinton player, music composer, performer and actress. Her extraordinary ability to stylistically handle classical, jazz, folk and world music instrumentally and vocally was appreciated in 2005, when she received the Alfréd Radok Award in the Talent of the Year category for the role of the sorceress Eva in the musical Ballad for the Bandit of the Brno Theater Goose on a String directed by Vladimír Morávek.

She already gained stage experience during her studies at the P.J. Vejvanovský Conservatory in Kroměříž and the University of Ostrava. Her singing versatility and talent are evidenced both by her successful collaboration with the Gustav Brom Orchestra and, for example, with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, with which she performed the demanding soprano part in Ladislav Simon's jazz Requiem under the baton of Vladimír Válk.
