FS Karpaty

Folklore ensemble Karpaty from Bratislava was founded in February 1998. The idea of founding the ensemble arose as a result of the effort to continue the long-term work and lifelong hobby of artistic leaders, educators and a group of young performers of Slovak folk art, after their involuntary departure from the Technik ensemble. Thanks to the great dedication and determination of all the members, but especially the artistic director, who also dedicated his working time to the implementation of this idea, it was possible, in a relatively short period of a few months, to accomplish a small miracle for that time. In addition to the existing 40-year-old, large folklore troupes, a new, so far small, but very ambitious troupe was created. Thanks to close cooperation with DK Ružinov and MČ Bratislava Ružinov, the group got its own premises. They gradually built up their material, technical and costume background. However, creating their own artistic identity and looking for opportunities to present their work was very important for the group. What was just a dream and a nice idea at the beginning has become a reality. They confirmed the old truth that even bad things are good for something, as long as they are supported by friendship, strong will, determination and desire to work and achieve something nice.
