Film a architektura

The

Film and Architecture Festival stimulates discussions about architecture and urbanism through screenings of author's documentaries, innovative, experimental and feature films. It contributes to debates between architects, politicians and the public about the form, needs and transformations of cities, which are necessary for the further development of our society and, thanks to the friendliness of the film medium, addresses the widest audience.

Each year the program consists of several thematic sections, which are subject to curatorial selection and expand awareness of contemporary high-quality architecture, important architects and their work, as well as the issue of city visions, social and environmental topics. The goal of the festival is to capture the development and potential of architecture, but also its spillover into other fields, such as visual arts, literature, film or theater. The goal is to find a common language with these fields and establish architecture as an equal partner.

Thanks to a publicly accessible and comprehensible medium, it is important for the film festival to point out the current problems of cities. The goal is to reach not only the general public and increase their interest in architecture, but also the group responsible for the development of the city and spark a debate about the possibilities of new approaches in architectural practice.
