Drink The Sea

Drink The Sea is a rock superproject founded in 2022. The group consists of Peter Buck (R.E.M.), Alain Johannes (Eleven, Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures), Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees, Mad Season), Duke Garwood and percussionist Lisette Garcia. The project originated from the joint improvisations of Barrett Martin and Alain Johannes in a studio in Olympia, Washington, and gradually grew to include other musicians. In his work, he combines alternative rock with elements of psychedelic rock, world music, folk and experimental music.

The debut of the project consists of two subsequent albums Drink The Sea I and Drink The Sea II, released in 2025. They contain songs such as Shaking For The Snakes, House Of Flowers, Saturn Calling, Butterfly, Meteors or Aching Harbor. In addition to the albums, the group also released the singles Outside Again, Pour Your Glow On, Tuareg Asteroid and Bembe For Two.
