Divadlo Bolka Polívky

Divadlo Bolka Polívka started its first season on September 17, 1993 with the presentation of Bolka Polívka's author's play The Castaway. During its twenty-five years of existence, a number of projects not only by the principal Bolek Polívka, but also by young Czech authors took turns here. Within the current repertoire, one can choose both from the author's plays of the principal Bolko Polívka (DNA, For a lady on the balcony, Jester and son) and from performances created in collaboration with other theaters (Mínus dva, The Naked Truth, Mindgame). In addition to the domestic repertoire, the audience can watch a wide range of plays by visiting Czech and foreign ensembles and see well-known actors on the boards. In addition to theater performances, concert performances by leading Czech and Slovak musicians and bands of various genres are a regular addition to the program. Exhibitions (approx. 10 - 12 per season) of important painters, graphic artists and photographers, held in the foyer of the theater, are also a season-long activity. In cooperation with its partners, the theater also engages in charitable activities.
