Divadlo Andreja Bagara Nitra
The first Nitra Theater was built in 1883 with a capacity of 360 seats. Nine meters wide stage was illuminated by kerosene lamps. The building stood on the area of the current theater and served the Nitra public until it was destroyed by the air bomb in World War II. This, however, did not disappear the effort to restore the professional theater scene in the city. It was created in the building of the National House and at the same time the gym TJ Sokol. For theatrical purposes, the modified space has been served since December 1949 - full 43 years. In 1992, the Andrej Bagar Theater moved from its old building and has since been operating in one of the largest and most modern theater buildings in Slovakia. Two playing spaces - a large hall with a capacity of 577 seats and a studio with 120 to 150 places of variable arrangement - are a prerequisite for the undisturbed operation of a multifunctional theater stand and create ideal conditions for the creation, presentation and perception of a modern stage work. The dramaturgy of the Andrej Bagar Theater in Nitra is based on the domestic and foreign audience and takes into account its diversity. Thematic and genre variety overlaps with high intensity and attractiveness of the stage work. In particular productions, the originality of the directorial personalities, their distinctive manuscript, aesthetic style, poetics and his interpretation of works are mirrors. The repertoire includes the basic pillars of the world classic and modern drama of the 20th century. The theater is regularly dedicated to the introduction of works for children and young viewer. He considers the introduction of the works of Slovak authors, contemporaries and classics to be a natural duty.
