De Staat
De Staat is a Dutch music group from Nijmegen, founded in 2006 by singer and producer Torre Florim, who originally developed the project as a solo initiative. Gradually, a full-fledged band emerged, which is profiled in the field of alternative rock with elements of electronic and experimental music. From the beginning, De Staat has relied on original work and studio production led by Florim.
The debut album Wait for Evolution was released in 2009 and was followed by the recordings Machinery (2011) and I_CON (2013), which ranked at the top of the Dutch charts. During this period, the band expanded its concert activity and performed at international festivals such as Glastonbury, Sziget or Lowlands.
The further development of the discography is represented by the albums O (2016) and Bubble Gum (2019), which was accompanied by the release of singles and music videos, including the track Witch Doctor's. The band also performed as opening act for Muse's European tour.
In 2022–2023, the band released a series of EPs (Red, Yellow, Blue), which were subsequently combined into the album Red / Yellow / Blue (2023). This project represents the next studio stage and continues the band's previous work by combining rock and electronic elements. Current work includes new singles, for example THE KING (2026).
