Bratislavské bábkové divadlo

The theater was founded in 1957 as one of the first professional puppet theaters for children in Slovakia (State Puppet Theatre). Currently, it belongs to the founding authority of the Bratislava self-governing region and was renamed the Bratislava Puppet Theatre. Annually, BBD welcomes an average of 33,000 viewers, among whom are mainly children from the smallest to teenagers, children from kindergartens and primary schools, healthy and disabled, from orphanages and from socially disadvantaged groups. Adults come to the theater with children - parents, grandparents, as well as the lay and professional public. The Bratislava Puppet Theater has 187 premieres and more than 15,000 performances at home and around the world. During its existence, BBD hosted in more than 35 countries on many continents. It won a number of important awards at foreign and domestic festivals and played more than 2,500 shows on tour, which were seen by over half a million spectators
