Blood Red Shoes
British alternative rock duo Blood Red Shoes formed in Brighton and consists of Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell. The band established themselves in the British independent scene and released their debut album Box of Secrets in 2008. The albums Fire Like This (2010), In Time to Voices (2012) and the eponymous Blood Red Shoes (2014) followed, creating a continuous discography of studio recordings.
After a period of activities outside the main project in 2019, the group released the album Get Tragic, which was created, among other things, during the members' time in the United States. It was followed by the sixth studio album Ghosts on Tape (2022), the release of which was postponed due to pandemic restrictions.
In the following period, the band continued regular studio and concert activities. In 2023, she released the album The Stone Tapes while simultaneously developing her own publishing platform Jazz Life. In 2024, it commemorated 20 years of existence with a concert series and follow-up recordings.
Current work is mainly represented by live recordings and balance projects, for example the album 20 Years of Blood Red Shoes: Live in Paris released in 2025, which maps a cross-section of the band's repertoire.
