Bert & Friends

The band is one of the few in the Czech Republic that can combine catchy and retro melodies and strange exaggeration (not necessarily humor!) with true musical sophistication, all wrapped up in a good mood. As if Karel Svoboda met David Lynch. That is why it is universally recognized even among musicians as something fresh and new. They have the Angel Award for the best video clip and a nomination for Discovery of the Year, the Apollo Award for Innovation in Music or the Ladder Award for Discovery of the Year.

The band is based on an alternative, but the mainstream potential and appeal of the band is great, which increasingly frequent appearances at large and prestigious events prove it. All band members graduated from the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and are top musicians.

Albert Romanutti
The charismatic frontman and author of all compositions, Alberto Romanutti, is becoming a prominent figure in our music scene, he is a trained conductor and composer. He is also dedicated to film music (Jan Foukal's Martian Ships from 2021), last year he debuted the feature film Home Alone (2022), which he co-directed and in which he stars; the band's songs also appear in the Czech TV series Shadows in the Mist or in the broadcast of TV Prima.

David Herzig
David Herzig is a musician, producer and sound designer. He studied bass guitar at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory, the Jaroslav Ježek Vocational School majoring in Jazz and dBs Music Berlin – majoring in Electronic music production and performance. In the past, he collaborated with, for example, the band Never Sol or the band Humdrum Lighthouse.

As a musician, he worked in the productions of the Municipal Theaters of Prague (The Glory and Fall of King Otakar, Mother Courage and Her Children) and the National theater (Oedipus the King). As a sound designer, he participated in the site-specific movement performance Lavabo. He collaborates as a producer with rapper Arleta (Ability To Damage Plant EP, Sex EP). In 2021, he released the solo album Field Theory under the pseudonym Lotus Wash. He has been a member of the band Bert & Friends for a long time.

Vladimír Mikláš
He studied the dulcimer at the state conservatory in Bratislava and then jazz guitar at the Jaroslav Ježek High School. He currently works as a guitarist in the bands Bert & Friends, Tryptych, Uniqat, Bardo. He is a member of Losers Cirque Company. He founded the kimchi production company Ferment it.

Jakub Šindler
Born on January 6, 1996 in Frýdek-Místek. He studied Percussion at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and Vocational School in Prague. He works in the musical groups Bert & Friends, Uniqat, Tereza Mašková, Jakub Doležal Quartet, Slza, David Kraus, Klára Vytisková, plays in the musical Lazarus of the Municipal Theaters of Prague and in the production of King Oedipus by the National Theater.
