Barbara van Erp

It was urgently needed that there was a place for the fun, young, fresh 50+ woman of today. The makers of Saar Magazine thought so. Very nice so that you are there. Here you can read more about the origin of Saar and the future.

The 50+ woman is younger, more fun, fresher and fitter than ever. She looks good, is in the middle of life and dreams of a future. We hardly see that image of the 50+ woman anywhere in the media. We see women with young children and the elderly in the media. That is why journalists Barbara van Erp (54) and Femke Sterken (43) thought it was necessary to make a place for the young 50+ wife. That became this online magazine Saar Magazine ("50+ but not yet dead").

Saar is about everything that this woman has to deal with. What is it like to be together for 25 years? What is it like when your children leave the house? How is it that everything goes down from your body: do you let it go up again or hang it back? What is it like to belong to the oldest generation at work? What are you going to do with your last 30 years? Divorce or stay? Start or sit out for yourself? What do you want? All questions that apply specifically to women between 45-65 years old.

That it is very important that Saar is there, it turned out that the online magazine was founded 5 years ago. Since Saar is online, the editors rang the phone: where that great magazine was not available. The readers were not satisfied with the answer that it was an online magazine - they wanted to buy it. And so Sterken and Van Erp decided to make a try -out number. That was such a resounding success that the magazine now appears six times a year and has found a permanent place on the shelf. Saar grows as cabbage against all trends.

In March 2022, Barbara van Erp (54) and Femke Sterken (43) started the mega -successful Saarpodcast together with Els Rozenbroek (65). In that podcast they discuss everything, but also everything that a 50 -year -old woman encounters nowadays. In the course of the months it appears that Rozenbroek has cancer, so that the frank conversations are increasingly about being sick and dying. Rozenbroek dies at the end of August 2022. After a break, the Saarpodcast then continues. The listeners remain. It is clear that the podcast also touches the target group of Saar.

Saar has the ambition to give these women more and more a face. A wonderful place where they see themselves with all the difficult, fun, exciting and also boring things they have to deal with in their lives. In addition to the magazine, Saar also has courses, newsletters, a successful online blog, live streams and the Saarpodcast. In 2024 we will expand our world with a premium subscription. We make a special from Saar every three months. In fact, it is 4x a cross between a magazine and a self -help book, with themes such as Love & Sex, Work, Happiness and Health. Everything made for that fun, young, smart 50+ woman. No fewer than 240 pages where we have asked experts to do research within these themes - interspersed with beautiful reports, exercises and tips that you can use immediately and have a lot of place where you can write down your own thoughts. Each theme is surprised with online content such as a live session with an expert, on topic newsletters, extra online tests and a podcast series that fits the theme alone and exclusively for premium members.

We crown each theme with a live event where the experts keep talks about their specialization. A violence moment to meet experts but also each other.

Saar Magazine is from Snippet Media, a completely independent and financially independent publishing house that is run by Barbara van Erp. Saar is therefore not part of a large publishing house. Saar only tries to work with advertisers who really suit Saar.

The podcast is free, the newsletter and the online content too. That is why it is very important and nice that Saar also has as many subscribers as possible. Do you want to support Saar? Then take a subscription, we are very happy with that and there is no more necessary.

Love, Team Saar
