BABYBEARD

BABYBEARD is a Japanese kawaii metal band founded in 2020. The band consists of Australian singer and professional wrestler Ladybeard (Richard Magarey) and Japanese singers SUZU and MAHRI, who replaced original member KOTOMI in 2023. The group continues Ladybeard's previous projects and combines J-pop, metal, electronic music and elements of idol culture in their work. A characteristic feature of her work is the alternation of melodic vocals with metal screams and an emphasis on a visual style inspired by Japanese pop culture.

The first recordings were the singles NIPPON KARA KONNICHIWA and PIENNIZER, released in 2021. In 2023, the debut EP Twisted Kaiju Tale followed, which contains compositions by Twisted Kaiju Tale, OPTISQUAD and their instrumental versions. At the same time, the band started regular concert activities in Japan, Australia, Europe and North America and performed at a number of anime and pop culture festivals.

Current work is represented by the singles MACHO! and SEMI-FINAL, released in 2025. In 2026, BABYBEARD participated in the song Ramen-Man by Samurai Pizza Cats.
