Aileen McKay

Aileen tutors, facilitates, speaks, writes, and edits — thoroughly enjoying the time she gets to spend with her students, participants, and clients. She finds these strands of her work wonderfully demanding and energising.

Examples of her recent work include: speaking on a podcast about hope; co-authoring a book on men and feminism; editing a handbook on teacher education in Central and Eastern Europe; and facilitating social sciences researchers in finding their own voices.

Aileen also loves to create — from street photography to weaving, writing to paper making, painting to knitting — especially in ways that challenge the presumed binary relationship between nature and humans. She prioritises

Her happy places are anywhere she can read, swim, dook, scramble, and forage — as well as her local community garden.

Aileen is on a mission to help others (re)connect with nature and find their own ways of cherishing it, now more than ever.
