Acres

The band Acres is a British rock group from Portsmouth, which was formed in 2011. They have been active in the alternative scene since the beginning and have gone through the development of the line-up and musical style during their career. The original work was associated with genres such as screamo and post-metal, on later recordings the band gradually focused on post-hardcore, melodic hardcore and alternative metal.

The group's first recordings are the EP Acres (2012) and Solace (2014), which were followed by the EP In Sickness and Health and Smoke and Decay released in 2017. The band underwent a fundamental change in 2015 after the departure of the original singer and the arrival of Ben Lumber, which was reflected in the further direction of the work.

The debut studio album Lonely World was released in 2019 and represents the first comprehensive long-playing project of the band. It was followed by the second album Burning Throne (2023), after which the group continued concert activity and further authorial development.

The band's current work includes the EP What It's Like to Feel Worthless (2024) and the third studio album The Host (2025), which continues the previous stylistic direction and develops elements of alternative metal and post-hardcore.
