Sound jewelry is a workshop for beginning sound artists, computer music composers and all those who who like to experiment and move between technology and art. It is intended for those who are interested in sound synthesis, surround sound, sound programming in the open source language SuperCollider and are open to collaboration, new experience and experiment.
The workshop will include an introduction to the SuperCollider language, collaborative experimentation and the creation of a sound jewelry spatial intervention in the context of the exhibition Contemporary Jewelry as a Communication Tool, which will take place at the Médium Gallery in October 2024.
The workshop is part of the artistic-educational series Císliconástroje Združenia ooo aimed at exploring the relationship between digital technology and artistic practice.
⚫ ABOUT THE LECTURER ⚫
Fero Király (1979) is an artist and teacher (VŠVU). He deals with projects that extend into performance, sound art and sound installations, interpretation of contemporary music, development of his own audiovisual tools, as well as educational projects in the field of music, multimedia and creative programming. In doing so, he uses new frontier experimental positions, creates his own digital tools and likes to collaborate on projects with other artists with a multidisciplinary focus. Together with Eva Vozárová, she leads the civic association ooo, which is the main platform for these activities, and curates the intermediate international event JAMA.

⚫ PRACTICAL INFO ⚫
Participants need to have their own laptop with the SuperCollider program installed at the workshop (https://supercollider.github.io/ ) and own headphones.
Previous knowledge of the SuperCollider language is an advantage, but not necessary.
The workshop will take place over two days at Medium Gallery in Bratislava.
The capacity of the workshop is limited. Max 15 participants*boys.
Age of participation: 18+

Friday 18. 10. afternoon 15:00 – 18:00
Saturday 19. 10th afternoon 12:00 – 17:00
The workshop will culminate in a public performance on Saturday evening.
The workshop is organized in cooperation with Galéria Medium.
