Experience visual and multi -genre art in the streets of Žilina. For the fifth time, you will offer you the opportunity to experience light and multimedia installations of domestic artists from Žilina, from various parts of Slovakia and abroad. As every year, the festival will guide you through the city and will open the door of several Zilina buildings, which you will not normally unload. The festival continues to make public space special and show the inhabitants of the city and its visitors how many forms it can take on, what interesting places it hides and how they can “invisible” public buildings and spaces with live artistic intervention to attract and inspire.
In the period 19th and 20 September, the festival will present a wide range of installations in which light becomes together with other artistic tools and forms of the center of artistic experience. The main dramaturgical moment of this year's curatorial selection of Light in Žilina is multi -genre. How does light work in the work that affects other senses in addition to sight? Can such a multisensory experience convey our content even more amplifies?
Each of the 11 episodes of this year's festival works with light as a medium -shaping its idea in a unique way, pointing to one of the many modalities and abilities of this artistic instrument. In combination with music, projections and object installations, both local and foreign artists have created works that will draw you into their unique atmosphere. In addition to being one of the means of their artistic expression in the installations of this year, it gives the opportunity to see something out of itself in the works. It makes sure that there is no more (Under The Wall, The Last Call) and in a strong audio-visual experience it presents the invised but felt (FEAR, Fugit). It has the ability to zoom out (the lights of the universe), but also in a new way to connect well -known and close (Harmonic Pulse of the Market, Universum). Light can become an architect of space and create a captivating atmosphere oscillating between movement and peace (Axis / Drift), neutral silence and unique tone (lines). At the same time, however, it can also fulfill its essential purpose-to transfer the dark (crack, mountain). Continuing the topic of multi -genre, it will present a composed work of live music, combining a game of oriental tools, electronic music or organ and captivating light and visual technologies. This year's dramaturgy also focused on exhibitions that visitors will be able to see in various buildings and exteriors of the Žilina Center. From the Považská Gallery of Art, to Passes: to Burian's Tower, which will provide an evening look from the bird's eye view to the unique exposition of the light -lit works of this year.
In addition to the unique experiences of the festival this year, works will also present work of the planes of artistic workmanship in the framework of its dramaturgy. Processed into captivating audio-visual works, their experience touches something deep in man. The present time does not allow us to close our eyes in front of the world and where else than in art we can illuminate the individual experience of the individual, which is becoming a collective reality of society. Nevertheless, it is the basic ability of light to illuminate and show…
