About event

🟡 A screening of films inspired by the work of Franz Kafka in collaboration between the Ponrepo cinema and the Goethe-Institut.

"...how else could we keep ourselves alive for film"... A special wording found in Franz Kafka's letter from 28 December 1908. He apparently promised the addressee Elsa Taussig that he would remind her to go to the Orient cinema in Prague that evening, and with this letter he fulfills the promise. Elsa Taussig is the future wife of Max Brod. Kafka will often go to the cinema with both named. Three young Prague cinephiles "keep themselves alive for film".

We present a dramaturgical cycle dedicated to Kafka in the year that marks the 100th anniversary of his death. Come and see an adaptation of Kafka's novel, a documentary about his work, an analysis of his relationship with film or perhaps a series of short films.
