What was the daily life of our prehistoric ancestors like? What did they do for a living, how did they make their tools, or how did they decorate their dwellings? In Banská Bystrica's Thurz House, the doors of a completely new, unique experiential exhibition Life in the Stone Age are opening, which will take visitors on a fascinating journey to an ancient period several thousand years ago.

The contact with history will be made possible by rare original artefacts from Slovak sites supplemented by replicas of prehistoric objects directly in an authentic Neolithic house.

The grounds of the Neolithic settlement and the surrounding landscape, the architecture, the furnishings of the interior of the residential building with its surroundings and the objects that were used correspond to expert archaeological knowledge.

Not only children and students but also adults will surely enjoy themselves. The exhibition is full of activities and links that they can actually try.

For example, decorating a house with an ancient ornament, assembling a prehistoric ax with a stone, grinding grain on a grain mill using a stone crusher, sewing clothing with a bone needle, and more await them.
