The script for the sci-fi film Tomorrow I will wake up and scald myself with tea was written in 1977 by Jindřich Polák, the creator of the famous Ikaria XB1, and Miloš Macourek, based on Nesvadbová's short story. The narrative takes place in the future, where traveling against the direction of time is a common pastime for tourists. The film is above all a successful combination of Macourko's screenwriting imagination and Polák's lightness of realization. Cinematographer Jan Kališ successfully dealt with the evocation of different time planes as well as the trick side of the narration. The cast has a significant share in the success of the comedy about parallel history. Petr Kostka appeared in the main double role, who was successfully seconded in the parts of the villainous Nazis by popular representatives of positive heroes – Vlastimil Brodský, Jiří Sovák and Vladimír Menšík. The Pole's "Mr. Tau" - Otto Šimánek appeared in the role of an American tourist.
