Zem je plocha na prenájom / vernisáž/ Dávid Galovics

The poetics of patched asphalt potholes, forgotten road cones, work. People's work, in progress, experienced in public space. Tags, warning tapes, industrial cameras, public control - Dávid Galovics mixes all this into paintings, objects, polystyrene reliefs and photographs. He does not embellish, he feels himself to be a part of the street and public space - while studying at FUTU, he left his artistic traces on the streets and today he flips his anti style graffiti handwriting into paintings and objects. It might seem that his works are a humorous comment on the not always representative, patched urban environment, on the visual smog, the falling plaster of the Central European environment, but in the background there is also a tribute to people and streets, areas and spaces that belong to us all and yet often remain invisible, lost in the everyday fragmented attention. Dávid Galovics is currently a final year master's student at the Art Studio at the TUKE Faculty of Arts in Košice, and the exhibited works are part of his diploma thesis.
