About event
🛋️ Shared living room - a space for conversation, understanding and mutual support
The shared living room was created as a natural continuation of the Learning for Life program. It is a place where parents of children with disabilities meet, experts and volunteers with open hearts - and where support is born from conversations.
It has gradually become a safe, accepting space for the exchange of experiences, practical help and relaxation - open to everyone who wants to understand, help or simply create a quiet time with their child.
👉 The Shared Living Room project is supported by the Magna grant program for the region of the Carpathian Foundation and corporate partner Magna PT s.r.o.
🧠 Theme of the October meeting: Body in balance
Children learn through movement - from the first turning over to walking to independent jumping, climbing, balancing. However, not everything always goes smoothly.
How to notice small deviations in posture, walking or stability? When is this a natural phase of development and when does a child need help?
This time we will look together at how to support the healthy development of movement in a normal home environment. We will show you simple activities that do not require special aids - just time, attention and the desire to be close to children.
You will learn:
• how feet, posture and balance develop
• why it is important to observe a child "in motion"
• what to notice at home and how to help proper development with small changes
• what games and activities naturally strengthen the body and self-confidence
🧘 During the meeting, we will practically try the activities together with the children - everything will be done playfully, taking into account their age and needs.
👩⚕ Guest of the meeting: PhDr. Denisa Šimko
Physiotherapist with many years of experience and expert in children's movement development. She also works as a university teacher - she imparts practical experience to future physiotherapists with an emphasis on a kind and individual approach.
Denisa will show you how children perceive their own body, what helps them move - and what can hinder them. It will show you that professional help doesn't have to be difficult - often it's enough to know where to start.
🫖 The meeting takes place in a pleasant, informal atmosphere. Entry is free, children are welcome.
📩 If you know you are coming, we would be happy if you let us know in advance by message.
We look forward to seeing you 💛
