About event
🇺🇦 Monumental fresco about the Ukrainian nation. In the next edition of Eastern Promises, Kamila Dolotin will screen an admirable documentary that was shown at last year's festival in Venice! A unique opportunity to see it on the big screen.
🎤 Also this time you will be able to look forward to an expert discussion after the screening — we will soon specify who will complement Kamila this time.
👁️ What does it mean to be part of the Ukrainian nation during the 20th century and today after the Russian invasion? The pair of directors Aleksandr Rodnyanskij and Andriy Alfjorov undertake a unique directorial dive into the threads of personal and historical memory and weave a web of events that shaped the history of Ukraine and the destinies of its inhabitants. The documentary film speaks both about the hot present and the cyclical nature of history.
🍦 We present as another echoes of this year's Eastern Promises section at the Summer Film School in Uherské Hradiště!
