Základy komunikace s lidmi s demencí

The course focuses in a practical way to clarify the topic of communication with the target group of people with dementia. It focuses on topics that are essential to understand the aging process, brain and memory functioning. In a practical form, it will bring participants to the possibility of verbal and non -verbal communication with people with dementia, focus on demanding situations in contact and their possible solutions. It will be oriented in individual types of dementia, in the specifics of communication at individual phases of the disease. It can create conditions and apply the principles leading to successful and respecting communication with the client, especially the establishment of contact, using verbal and non -verbal communication. He will learn about the possibilities of solving demanding situations with persons with dementia.

Content of the course

The situation

At the beginning of the course you will become familiar with each other, name your expectations and get an overview of what awaits you during the day. In a safe and friendly environment, you will have room to share your experience and questions. You will find out why it is important to distinguish between individual types of dementia and how P-P-IA can help you in practice.

Then focus on communication itself. You will talk about how to talk to people with dementia, what communication mistakes often repeat and how to avoid them. We will show that often more than words speak body language - and we have been paying special attention to non -verbal communication. You will learn to perceive the signals that you may normally overlook. You will get specific tips on how to respond to these situations, and most of all you will try everything practically.
